Miscreants, mankiness and birthdays
It's been a while since I have put up photos of the cats, so to illustrate yesterday's story, here is Cookie, the tiny but fluffy cat who turned out to be perfectly well behaved the whole time (she likes to guard Mr B's computer while he is playing Internet Spaceships):

And this is Monster, who is much bigger than she looks in this shot, but very much the Investigating Kitty. She's simultaneously clever and thick, best described by the vet as Bright Within Herself:

They are very sweet little cats!

In other news, I have been doing physio for my bad foot since last December and it has had a real effect. A lot of the exercises are very much like barre exercises, and reminded me of how much I like the discipline of ballet, even though I am woefully out of both practise and ballet trim. So I ordered some DVDs of basic barre exercises to work through.

I told Mr B about this and he gave me A Look. While the main foot damage I have comes from a bad cycling accident, quite a bit is also dance-related. I blithely assured him that I knew my limits and would be fine. He told me that my body would rebel the minute I told it plies were in order.

Yesterday, my good foot was suddenly and inexplicably swollen and painful all around the back of the toes and top of the ball, so demi-pointe work was right out and I could only do a third of my physio. Today the DVDs arrived. (I think he thumped me in my sleep to prove a point. Or pointe.)

In other news, HAPPY BIRTHDAY ella_bane ! You gorgeous-haired creature, you! I started the day off thinking of you as my Merlin S3 DVD was in the same post as the ballet ones. Here's to lovely lads and adventures in chain mail! May your day be filled with all good things!

And Happy late birthday to realolacola  and sevenwindows  for yesterday, or, you know, technically the day before for sevenwindows  ... look, we know I am tardy, but I confess I was distracted picking up the Cookie Cat and telling her how glad I was she had not been eaten by Erskineville. Nevertheless, I hope you both had great days and that this year is filled with fabulous live music, friends and adventures!

Aw, they're lovely! We have a Cookie, except she is more white than black, kind of Jersey cow colouring, itms. (She's also not called Cookie, she's called Miko Takahashi, due to the manga-esque tufts of fur around her head).

We also have a cat who's Bright Within Herself :) She likes to set on the arm of the couch and knock the tv remote onto the floor, or change the channel by leaning on it, and then look about as if it were a complete accident... yeah, right.

Gosh, Cookie is sweet, and I'm sure the Monster is too, if I could actually see her properly! (What is that she is sitting in???)

Its a cat tunnel. They usually have toys and stuff hanging from the inside roof. Cats like to run through them, or hide in them. The tunnel is retractable, so its easy to move and store.

The ones we have seen over here do not have transparent plastic leaves at the opening, and don't come in that sort of colour!

Aww, Cookie is all adorable and whiskery!

AW! Kitties! *squishes*

Unexpected swelling in your good foot doesn't sound good. Hopefully it will settle on its own and you haven't had an allergic reaction to something you stepped on.

Give your rascally kitties a scratch behind the ears from me, or a snuggle. Or you know... Both. :)

Ouch! Your poor foot :S

Your cats are very cute indeed though. Did you shout at Cookie for giving you a fright?

They're adorable! Cookie doesn't look tiny at all, but it's probably mostly fluff. :)

I hope you feel better.

I envy how photogenic your cats are. :D

I don't know much about ballet or foot physiotherapy, but it sounds like you're better off resting the foot for a bit longer.

Photos of cats are always welcome - please give them scritches behind the ears and under the chin for me :)
All the best with the barre stuff - and poohey to Mr B - obviously the swelling has NOTHING to do with ballet (cough cough), but maybe you may want to build slowly..... Or it could be delayed histamine reaction to that icecream the other day - yes that's it... :)

"Bright within herself", LOL! That sounds like my big boy cat, Prince Charming. He's a total moron but is yet all the time pleased with himself. Dumb cats are the best.

They are both so cute I want to eat them. But I won't.
