I couldn't watch ...
I see my physiotherapist on Fridays -- we've been working for over a month on making my foot stop clicking with every step. Never shatter your foot, kids! She is a lovely young woman and a cricket tragic of the highest order. On Friday, six of her clients are British. She has come to dread Fridays, the poor thing.

Last Friday, she told me that she had an offer of free tickets for the last day of the Sydney test. 'You should go!' I said.

'Nah, I think I'll pass. It may not even happen, or if it does, it'll probably be all that effort to get out there and then an hour and it's all over.'

How prescient she was. After our lads did such sterling work, I was hoping that Australia would rise to the occasion. Admittedly, 644 runs is a big target, but they had a few up their sleeve from their first innings. Nope. 213 runs and 7 wickets down.

The very worst part of it all is that I won't get to see Cook bat again.

Good lord, that would be ghastly. I would be simultaneously mortified and constantly tripping over the poor buggers. And deeply worried for their sanity!

And as for the foot, it is a longstanding mankiness, as it were, and so will take some time to get it back to the level of usefulness I would like. My own fault for putting up with functional rather than good, but at least I can walk, dance and run, which is not always the case for such mangle-age ;-)

Oh, you poor thing!

*sympathises*

If the sympathy is for the lack of Cook, yes, it is AWFUL.

If for the foot, my own fault for insisting one could ride a bicycle in Sydney after the city had already tried to kill me twice. Lovely place, filled with hideous roads and vile motorists!

The sympathy was originally meant to be for the lack of Cook, but after I posted it occurred to me you needed sympathy for the foot as well, whether it was your fault or not!

{{{HUGS}}} anyway.

That was totally my problem - they HAVE to set us sixty runs, so he can reach 800!

With the way the Aussies have been batting from what I hear, the game will be over before lunch! LOL ;D

For a little while this morning, the tail looked like it might wag.

Not so much now.

Ahhh. I know. He could have gone on forever :) And very nearly did - we did get 36 hours out of the gorgeous man!

At least he is young, and we have many years of him ahead of us!
