Impersonating an opera heroine, again!
I am healthy most of the time! But I don't mention that here, instead, only the plagues are spoken of.

This one is rather plaguey, I still have no voice, but now have a cough. I hope it is not the cough that Mr B has because he is onto his third antibiotic and has a codeine cough suppressant. Overachiever.

I had pomegranate with vanilla ice-cream to soothe my throat. The pomegranate had been in the fridge, so I had to give it a really good thump to knock all the seeds out, cutting it into sections, squeezing and thwacking it with a spoon. It was delicious.

I went to whisper to Mr Brammers about just how delicious it had been. He looked at me, concerned. 'How are you feeling?' he asked.

'Sick!'

'Do you have a fever?'

'Yes!' I said, pleased that he had noticed that I was poorly. 'I'm not enjoying it!'

'I think you might need to go up to the hospital ...'

'It's not that bad, it's just laryngitis, or a cold.'

He shook his head. 'You've come out in an awful rash!'

I ran to the bathroom to look in the mirror. I was, indeed, covered in red dots. I reached out my tongue and licked one off my chin. Yep. Pomegranate juice.

OK, that's the limit of my coherence for the day. I owe many comments, especially to the people who cheered me up immensely this afternoon with such lovely words. I believe my brain will return after a good sleep or two. Might nick a bit of the codeine ...

Well you may be feeling sick as a dog, but at least you can still make us all laugh - thank you. Hope you and Mr B return to your usual good health quickly.

Comedy is my default position. And bleagh! I did nick some of his codeine, and I STILL woke myself up coughing!

oh my! you must have been a sight! glad to know it's not some mysterious ailment. get better! xo

I think I was a bit too enthusiastic with the pomegranate whacking, but it's so much fun!

Too cute.

LJ has started screening anonymous entries, I don't know why! I may even find how to undo that one day ... And it did look highly amusing :-)

This had my rotfl, just to let you know.

Glad your rash is edible!
blamebramptonblamebrampton on August 12th, 2011 03:18 pm (UTC)
It was very tasty! Though I couldn't reach most of it, sadly. I was so proud that I hadn't splattered my top, I didn't wonder at the trajectory of the drops that were going over the top of it ... ;-)

LOL... you know, I've never known how to eat a pomegranate, just saying. You've given me food for thought (perhaps literally).
blamebramptonblamebrampton on August 12th, 2011 03:23 pm (UTC)
They're so yummy! You can be all sedate and just cut it into sections and scoop out the pulp. My Lebanese friends all used to laugh at me for spitting out the seeds, but I still do to this day (I have a little cup so I can do it genteely!) Or you can give it a good knock to loosen everything up, then cut it open and squeeze out the pulp, or thwack it some more with a spoon, or both :-) You can sieve out the seeds, or munch them down, and it's fab over ice-cream, with lamb or chicken or fish if you eat meat, as a juice, with soda water, or with vodka if it's all been too much :-)

Mmmm... that makes it sound yummy.

You poor thing. Feel better soon. *hugs*
blamebramptonblamebrampton on August 12th, 2011 03:24 pm (UTC)
Thank you! I feel better just for seeing your little mousey icon. I tell you, my mime skills have been getting quite the workout! (To my eternal shame ...)
Nennenenne on August 12th, 2011 03:27 pm (UTC)
Such skills can obviously come in handy. Keep practicing. :)

Should you ever need to break out of an invisible cell ...

*Giggles*

You are not well and clearly allowed to make a mess without noticing! yesterday I didn't notice my return flight from Denmark was to Stansted, not Gatwick - I was actually inside the terminal building in Stansted before I realised - somehow I missed the destination on my boarding pass/ flight boards/ announcements etc...
blamebramptonblamebrampton on August 12th, 2011 03:26 pm (UTC)
Oh dear! That's quite funny, unless you had someone waiting for you at Gatwick. Poor thing! Did it end up being all right?
subtlefiresubtlefire on August 11th, 2011 10:04 pm (UTC)
Codeine and pomegranates are the tools to a healthy recovery! Oh, and remarkable wit. You'll be 100% in no time :)
blamebramptonblamebrampton on August 12th, 2011 03:27 pm (UTC)
I need more pomegranates! And the codeine wasn't as much help as I was hoping it would be. More pillows tonight, sitting upright seems to be the trick to avoiding coughing fits. As to wit, I have been making jokes using mime. It's a long way to fall, let me tell you ...
subtlefiresubtlefire on August 12th, 2011 10:09 pm (UTC)
The one time I experienced codeine, I did not care for it either. And trying to sleep while sitting up to avoid coughing isn't quite as restful :( I hope you feel better soon.

Perhaps you should consider the use of mime as expanding your repertoire...

That's lovely.

Also, I highly recommend the codeine syrup for coughs. It always makes me happy.
blamebramptonblamebrampton on August 12th, 2011 03:40 pm (UTC)
Alas, it did nothing aside from make me groggy :-( Still coughed enough to keep myself awake. Bah!
Catherine17catherines on August 13th, 2011 12:03 am (UTC)
Not fair! It does a bit for my cough, but a lot for my mood.
